How to merge PDFs into one, offline
Putting an ID, a contract and its appendices, or a whole semester of assignments into a single PDF is a very common task. Online sites can do it, but you have to upload every file and they often limit size or count.
With Shinobi.pdf you merge them on your computer, with no limits, and you can add one bookmark per file to find each part quickly.
Step by step
Open the “Merge” section
It’s in the Shinobi.pdf sidebar.
Add the PDFs
Drop all the files at once or add them one by one.
Put them in order
Use the arrows to arrange them in the order they should appear in the final file.
Choose whether you want a bookmark per file
“One bookmark per file” adds an entry with each file’s name to the final PDF’s table of contents.
Click “Merge PDFs”
Choose where to save the file and you’re done.
Tips
- If a file has pages you don’t need, remove them first with the “Ranges” mode in “Split”, then merge.
- Turn on “Compress” in the options to make the final file smaller.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit on files or size?
No. The only limit is your disk space.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Yes, if you know the password: Shinobi.pdf asks for it when you add them.
Are the bookmarks kept?
With “One bookmark per file”, each file becomes an entry in the final table of contents.
